Panos Sotirakopoulos

Welcome to my personal website!

My name is Panos (Panagiotis) Sotirakopoulos. I am a Research Fellow at the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre at Curtin University.

I completed my PhD in Economics at Deakin University. Prior to that, I completed a M.Sc. in Applied Economics and Data Analysis and a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Patras, Greece.

My research interests are directed towards Labour Economics, Health & Well-being and Applied Microeconomics.

News/Updates:


Feb.2024: I presented my research at the Australian Gender Economics Workshop 2024 in Sydney.

Nov.2023: I presented my research at the CEPA Conference: Productivity, Regulation and Economic Policy University of Queensland in Brisbane.

Sep.2023: I was awarded an Early Career Research Grant with Rigissa Megalokonomou and Sofoklis Goulas from Monash University (AUD $9,960).

Jul.2023: I received the Best Presentation Award in the Curtin Faculty of Business and Law for presenting my work at the Curtin EMCR Symposium.

Jul.2023: I presented my research at the ACE 2023 in Brisbane.

Apr.2023: I joined the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre at Curtin University as a Research Fellow.

Apr.2023: Our paper entitled "A Tale of Two Life Stages: The Imprinting Effect of Macroeconomic Contractions on Later Life Entrepreneurship" joint with Matthew Mount, Cahit Guven, Aydogan Ulker and Carol Graham was accepted for publication at Journal of Business Venturing.

Feb.2023: I received two Academic Teaching Excellence Awards from Deakin University for teaching MAE256 - Analytical Methods in Economics and Finance in Trimesters 1 and 2 last year.
